‘Out Of Here’ Release Nonsense

So I’m releasing my EP, Out Of Here, this weekend (7th of April 2012 at around lunchtime, to be precise) and I thought that if I’m going to all the effort of making the thing I might as well promote it in a kind of shameless giveaway competition thing.

Once it’s live on the 7th, the EP will be available to listen to and download at ardiecollins.bandcamp.com. There will also be another EP available called B-Sides which is made up of songs that I’ve written since the song-a-day project ended that I didn’t think quite fitted with the mood of the main EP but that I liked enough to make available. I’ve never spent this long on making a bunch of tracks sound as I want them to sound, so I hope you like it. You’ll be able to listen to 8 tracks (7 real tracks and one ‘Intro’ track) online, and if you wanted to download it you’d also get two never-before-heard bonus tracks with your download to complete the EP. So there’s exciting.

BUT. I am also giving away three free downloads of the whole of Out Of Here (including the bonus tracks) in the form of a super-special download code. To enter the giveaway you can do any and all of the following three things.

  1. You can tweet using the hashtag #OutOfHereEP. Each tweet containing the hashtag counts as an entry. The tweet doesn’t have to be relevant to the EP (but if you wanted to make it relevant, then that’d be lovely). All tweets containing the hashtag up to 12pm UK time on 6th April 2012 count as an entry.
  2. You can reblog this post on Tumblr. Or any derivative of that post from someone else who has already reblogged it (just as long as whatever you do counts as a reblog and shows up as a note on the original post so I can actually see it and put your name in the hat, knock yourself out, kid.)
  3. You can ‘Like’ this Facebook page. Yes, I made a Facebook page. I’m as confused as you are as to why I did that. But it’s just another place to keep people updated about some of the stuff I seem to do nowadays. Those who are ‘Like’ing the page when I do the draw on the 6th will all get an entry into the hat.

Winners will be drawn from three different hats (Twitter-based entries, Tumblr-based entries, and Facebook-based entries) which I will film and upload to my YouTube channel on the 6th of April. Winners will be notified (most likely via the medium through which they won) on the 6th and be given a unique download code before the album goes live on the 7th.

Rules:

There’s only one, really, and that’s that you can’t win more than once. So feel free to tweet and reblog and ‘like’ to increase your chances but if you get drawn out of a hat and you’ve already won a free download code from another hat then you won’t be able to win another one, just ‘cause that’d be a bit of waste.

Also, it’d help if it was relatively easy to get hold of you. I’ll let the Twitter winner know by mentioning them in a tweet, I’ll let the Facebook winner know through a Facebook message if possible, and if you’re on Tumblr then it’d be good if you had Asks or Fan Mail on so that I can contact you that way. Let’s be honest, I’ll most likely at least vaguely know the people who end up winning because I’m just hanging about in this little corner of the internet of mine, but just in case I don’t and I can’t get hold of you after a day or two then I’ll draw another name and give the download code to them.

If another rule I hadn’t thought about crops up that’ll really screw someone over then I’ll let you know, but basically I’ll just try to keep things fair.

If anyone’s still reading, I just want to say thanks and stuff. The support I’ve had over the past year is pretty much the reason this EP exists and so thank you and other sincerities I tend to struggle with but which I genuinely mean.
