Cooper365 Project

Between the 1st of January 2011 and the 31st of December 2011 I released one original piece of jangly nonsense onto the internet every day. The aim was to have 365 original songs to my name by the end of 2011, and I somehow went and did it. Many years ago I started putting a few tracks online here and there and went under the alias of Cooper, I had an alias for no reason other than embarrassment (I wrote a blog post about all of this here). I’m still relatively embarrassed (that’s a general disposition more than anything) but this year it all grew out of control and I started to actually admit that I make music and that I put it online for people to hear if they fancied it.

One of the reasons this grew out of control is because of the sheer volume of tracks and the fact that I finally started using social media and things to promote it. I’ve been getting a lot of positive responses from lovely strangers as well as friends. So: I am Cooper and Cooper is me and things. I’m often off key. I often scuff up. I’m by no means a proper singer person. But this was really just a songwriting challenge I set myself. I’m odd like that. All of the tracks from my 365 project have been sorted into monthly albums which can be listened to (and downloaded for free) at my Cooper365 Bandcamp.

Or you can play them here. There are a lot of tracks, though, so perhaps you’d like to find out about the Random Track Ratio and try your luck.
