The incredible Jonathan Mann has a 70:20:10 rule on hearing a random track from his incredible song a day project (which is over 1000 days now!) that I also employ – 70% of the time it’ll probably be a mediocre song, 20% of the time you’ll find yourself listening to some dreadful, and 10% of the time you might just stumble across a little gem that I could maybe even bring myself to be pleased with. This is just all about making something to be proud of.
