You said, "hey, would like to write a folk a song?"
I said, "Yeah, when I'm done with my yoghurt
Then I'll call the bank and sort through this mail
Hey, where did you put the granola?"

But I've got three chords and they're simple to play
And the tune is the sort people know
Yeah I know the kind, just let me put up these shelves
And then I'll be ready to go

The hardest part about writing a song
Is caring enough to begin with
I know there's washing and dishes to do
But at this rate we'll never finish

You were the one who suggest this first
And I've got my own stuff to do

There are some tricks to getting this done
We'll write a verse where there's nothing but strums
